Best Places to Go Base Jumping

Home / Uncategorized / Best Places to Go Base Jumping

Base jumping is one of the prime sports for anyone who loves a serious adrenaline rush. In this article, we’re going to discuss some of the best places that you can get your blood pumping with a good base jump.

Some of the places listed necessitate that you get permission before jumping. Some are free and easy to access, requiring no permission. Yet other locations entirely forbid base jumping to all except a very select few.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris

The Eiffel Tower has been a notorious location for high jumping ever since Franz Reichelt failed his first parachute testing there in 1912. For some reason, this has actually encouraged other people to jump from the towering heights of the Eiffel Tower.

If you’re fond of base jumping in cities and other urban environments, then you’ll have to try jumping the Eiffel Tower.

The Troll Way in Norway

The Troll Wall in Norway is one of the most popular base jumping spots in the entire world. It’s the tallest vertical rock face in all of Europe, and it’s attracted legions of climbers and base jumpers alike.

Kjerag, Norway

You may have already seen Kjerag in pictures. The iconic image of a massive boulder suspended between two opposing rock faces has been featured on many internet sites and magazines.

In addition to being a natural marvel, Kjerag is a fantastic place to go base jumping and has been frequented since the 90s. The fantastic panoramas and sweeping views provided at Kjerag confirm that Norway is one of the best places for base jumpers.

Perrine Bridge, Idaho, United States

Perrine Bridge might be one of the shortest jumps on this list, but it’s also one of the most refreshing. Jumping off the 150-meter bridge allows people to careen into the waters beneath.

Perrine Bridge is also one of the most accessible and easy-to-reach jump sites.

The Dolomites in Italy

The Dolomites are a mountain range found in the Alps, and they offer a great variety of adventures for people who enjoy extreme sports. In the Dolomites, you can enjoy top-notch skiing, climbing, hiking, and – of course – base jumping.

One of the best things about base jumping in the Dolomites is that spots haven’t necessarily been mapped out. This means that you can do your own exploring and find your own spots to jump!

Burj Khalifa in Dubai

Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building and became immediately famous after its construction. Naturally, it also drew the attention of base jumpers from all around the world.

Jumping from Burj Khalifa is no easy feat since you need to seek permission which is not easily granted. That said, those who are able to get permission will get to enjoy a whopping minute and a half of free fall.

Angel Falls in Venezuela

Unfortunately, Venezuela isn’t the safest country to visit right now – but that doesn’t change the fact that the country is home to the world’s tallest waterfall. Angel Falls stands nearly a kilometer high and offers base jumpers fantastic vistas and an incredible, unparalleled experience in nature.
